Walt Harris and Alistair Overeem finally fought at UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs Harris after their matchups were canceled twice. The first was due to Harris’ stepdaughter’s disappearance. A few weeks later, the MMA world was shocked to hear of the 19-year-old’s murder. Overeem, who won via 2nd round TKO and was very classy both before and after the fight.
Alistair Overeem urges Walt Harris to keep going
‘The Demolition Man’ embraced his opponent before the fight. Even after securing his 46th MMA win, his celebrations were muted and so was his post-fight Octagon speech. However, later on, he opened up on his opponent and praised him for bouncing back quickly. He also urged ‘The Big Ticket’ to keep going.

“Walt is a cool guy. It’s horrible what he’s been through with the personal tragedy of his daughter. But also with the whole corona thing going on in the background, it’s really important that we get back on the horse and we keep going. So you know I brought my best version of me out there tonight took it very serious to training camp and all the details that go with it. And we just really need to get back on the horse and that’s what’s important for Walt. Hats off to him and he needs to keep going.”
Fellow Heavyweight fighter Francis Ngannou too, put out a tweet praising ‘The Big Ticket.’

He wrote, “I’m very proud of Walt Harris. I can’t really imagine what he been through but it must have been hell. Seeing him perform in the Octagon tonight just shows that we can overcome everything when we have a why.”
‘The Big Ticket’ has plans to keep going. In his post-fight Octagon interview with Paul Felder, he said, “I’ll be back better. I promise you. You haven’t seen the last of ‘The Big Ticket.’ Imma go home and heal emotionally and physically and I promise you I’ll be better.”
Everyone will absolutely love this classy display all around. Fans certainly hope to see ‘The Big Ticket’ back once more and will be rooting for him to get through the tragic times that have befallen his family.
