DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — In a story April 19, 2020, about battleground politics, The Associated Press erroneously reported that Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s disaster declaration was made in response to majority Republicans’ trimming the terms of her emergency order. The declaration was made before GOP action. The AP also erroneously reported that Republicans trimmed the emergency order last week. Republicans took the action two weeks ago.
